FIcontent results and demos have been showcased this week in Brussels, on the occasion of ECFI, the first European Conference on the Future Internet, that gathered all the FI-PPP projects, aimed at accelerating the development and adoption of Future Internet technologies in Europe.
The 3 FIcontent platforms were presented through five live demos created by Fraunhofer IAIS, Fraunhofer FOKUS, ETH Zurich, Disney Research and DFKI. Various presentations about the project were also given on both days of the event, to present to political stakeholders how FI-PPP and FIcontent will be drivers of change in Europe, with concrete information on the FIcontent exploitation plans including today’s use of our technologies on the market, and expected outcomes for the future. The current status of the project has also been detailed in a dedicated session that presented some of the technical results as well as the planned large-scale FIcontent experiments for 2014.
ECFI gathered more than 200 industry and political stakeholders that discussed central socio-economic and technological topics of Future Internet infrastructures and services in Europe, based on the achievements of the FI-PPP programme. Later in 2014, a second European Conference on the Future Internet will be organised in Munich, targeting a larger public, mostly composed by European industrial stakeholders.
An interview of Prof. Philipp Slusallek (DFKI) recorded at ECFI also presents the FIcontent technology enablers and the Pervasive Games platform.
