FIcontent at Smart City-UPV in Valencia, Spain

Smart City UPV meeting

Last July 23th, an informative meeting related to Smart Cities was held at the Polytechnic University of Valencia (UPVLC). All research departments were invited in order to establish the basis for building a specialized group dealing with Smart Cities within the University.

The Town Council of Valencia has recently ported its Smart City infrastructure to FI-WARE technology with the collaboration of Telefonica, and is looking for participants in the Valencia ecosystem to add value on the platform by developing new services that will help both citizens and companies.

The Live Fallas mobile app, developed within the FIcontent project for the Spanish “Fallas” festival in Valencia was, once again, presented as a successful story, where companies (Prodevelop), Universities (UPVLC) and the Town Council jointly collaborate to produce high added value apps for citizens. The application was indeed a great success with more than 8000 downloads.
