Studies on consumer behaviour and media usage show that the consumption of multimedia content in Social TV scenarios has become an important part of teenagers’ daily routines. Accordingly, Fraunhofer introduced the topics of FIcontent and Social Connected TV in two of its education events: Fraunhofer Talent School and Girl’s Day.
Fraunhofer Talent School is an annual event offering pupils insights and perspectives in research and development. During their autumn half-term, pupils came to Fraunhofer campus in Birlinghoven near Cologne to gain first-hand experience. Participants showed strong interest in future applications for multi-screen scenarios and reported on their own experiences with TV series and interactive applications.
Girl’s Day is also an annual event, focusing on teenage girls and their interests in the context of academic studies and professional careers in technology-related fields. At this year’s event in March, an interactive workshop will be held. It sets out to jointly develop creative ideas for future TV formats. Technologies and applications for Social Connected TV will also be tested and discussed.
