Pervasive Games at the Zürich game festival

Ludicious game festival

The FIcontent Pervasive Games platform will be presented at the Ludicious Zürich Game Festival on Sept 18-21.

There will be a Game Jam feat. FI-content middleware the first day, then events, talks and conferences during the next days. Besides demonstrating our cutting-edge technologies, we will announce the launch our Gnome Trader city-wide game (to be released on app stores). The Ludicious festival will be a great occasion to be in direct contact with European game developers, to spread the word about the phase 3 of FI-PPP, and run experiments and trials to collect data.

An ultimate hackathon will also be organised, where 50 students from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (ETH), the Zurich University of the Arts (ZHdK) and the Haute école d’Art et de Design Genève (HEAD) will develop minigames in mixed teams that lead visitors to interesting places in Zurich to unlock clues.

In addition, we will run a visual program workshop for children using our new Visual Agent Design SE and the Thymio II robot.

FIcontent partners have finally developed the Ludicious App, that offers a digital version of the festival program for smart phones and tablets, giving access to Ludicious-oriented student games that you can play during the festival, and up-to-date news posts.

Zurich Game Festival will turn the town into the computer game industry meeting point for innovative emerging talents. Also a varied programme will be offered for interested members of the public. Special highlights of the three-day festival include the awards for the festival’s «International Competition» and «Student Competition». In addition the Swiss Game Developers Association (SGDA) will present the «Swiss Game Award» during the festival. The opening of the third «Call for Projects: Swiss Games 2014/2015» of the Swiss Arts Council Pro Helvetia will form a further highlight.
